In order for CSOs to maximise their messaging strategy, they need to understand which communication channels are most effective at reaching their stakeholders and audiences. The communication channel is a medium through which a message is transmitted to its intended audience, such as print media, broadcast or electronic media. Although media is one of the major channels for CSOs in the region, it is important for CSOs to explore the plethora of other possibilities when planning and selecting a communication channel. One of TACSO's major annual events was a regional conference. Civil Society Organisations and Good Practices in the Use of Communication Channels. Zhe aim of the conference was to bring together CSO representatives in order to share good practices in the use of communication channels with a particular emphasis on social media tools.
